The item upgrader adds a brand new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. This Manager costs 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gaming benefit other than making it easier to view and purchase upgrades.

Increases the effectiveness of

Certain items come with inherent boos that are less effective when upgraded, for example the Goldwrap which gives additional slots for potion. These are often upgraded to add value to a nearly perfect item.

Costs

There are a few expenses that are associated with upgrades to items. The first is the cost for the upgrade. This price is contingent on the new level of the item and the amount of perks it gains and can be costly. It can also be costly to upgrade an item to a higher tier (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The second is the cost of the materials needed to upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and over) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing certain Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). It is also possible to add a range of additional materials to the upgrade items, which increases the chance of success. They are displayed in a window that is above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is displayed directly above the + button.

Another way to increase the odds of an upgrade succeeding is by using an item known as a Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is helpful when you own an item or weapon equipment that has reached the maximum level for its tier or is close to it.
