3 Wheel Double Buggy

Our tester Claire was impressed by the neat packaging that was easy to open and deemed it to be to be one of the quickest and most simple pieces of baby equipment to put together. She took it for a spin on the rough terrain and was very pleased with its performance.

Seats

The majority of 3 wheel double buggies begin life as single pushchairs, although some models can be converted to accommodate a second seat or carrycot using adapters (these are typically more common in tandem buggies). There are also models will allow you to include a ride-onboard for older children who wish to walk but still need some assistance.

Check out the Joie Evalite Duo for a lightweight option perfect for urban streets. It's easy to maneuver and comes with a large basket with lots of storage. It can hold twins from birth and will accommodate two car seats or an infant carrycot and seat. The seats have to face toward the forward direction and there isn't space for an item under the seat. You will require a sidepack.

If you're looking to go off-road then the Mountain Buggy Duet is a good option. It's a side by side with the smallest footprint of any double buggy on the market. It's much easier to get through narrow doors on public transport, and to climb over and over kerbs. It also has a handbrake that is attached to the handlebar that can be adjusted for more security and safety.

The UPPAbaby vista 2 double is another lightweight option that can be used by twins or a baby and toddler. The seats feature multi-position reclining and UPF 50+ sunshades, while the canopy can be adjusted to keep the sun out of your child's eyes. The Vista 2 can be converted into an UPPAbaby triple by incorporating UPPAbaby's "PiggyBack" board, which is designed for older children.

The iCandy Orange double buggies are one of the most sought-after available. This is due to their outstanding comfort. It's an all-terrain pushchair 3 wheels with a soft suspension, which is able to handle bumpy surfaces. Suspension

MFM reviewer Kath test-driven the Urban Glide 2 with her toddler and newborn and found it very capable on difficult terrain. "It navigated effortlessly across bumpy sidewalks and grass cobbles, dirt tracks and was easy for me to navigate around corners and climb up or down kerbs." Folding

It's also designed to handle slightly rough terrain, making it a great option for family walks and all-terrain hikes.

Other models, such as the UPPAbaby Vista 2, offer plenty of space and ability to transport twins or two toddlers and a child. (This is possible thanks to their 'PiggyBack board'). It's the smallest side-by-side double in the market and comes with some impressive technology, including games-changing LED lights on both sides of the frame to ensure security in low-light conditions.

For something different and unique, the Joie Evalite Duo is a lightweight buggy that can accommodate twins from birth (it's open to the world and features an upright position). The frame's clever design expands to accommodate a second seat, yet it weighs only 11kg. This makes it easy to lift and move. It can be used with an infant car seat, a carrycot, or both. This lets you have the best of both worlds.
