Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet style of the previous albums. It was a more powerful, consistent effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the development of the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature.
